Our mission is to foster understanding and awareness of world cultures through the re-creation and presentation of traditional ethnic dance and music.
To our audience: We believe that ethnic music and dance are true affirmations of human artistic expression. Many of the cultures which are represented in our programs are currently in great conflict. Through our performances, we acknowledge the inherent beauty and dignity of all peoples.

The award-winning Ethnic Dance Theatre is one of only few dance companies in the USA dedicated to the preservation and artistic performance of world music, song and dance.
Founded in 1974 by Jonathan Frey and Donald LaCourse, EDT has performed in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, France, Hungary and the Autonomous Region of Ossetia, Russia, as well as throughout the Upper Midwest.
